Marilyn Manson



Marilyn Manson is an American musician, and also an actor and filmmaker, artist and author (he wrote his own autobiography). He is also the founder of the famous rock band (also called “Marilyn Manson”).

Short Biography of Marilyn Manson

Name: “Marilyn Manson” actually is called Brian Hugh Warner. His stage name “Marilyn Manson” was invented by himself and has an interesting background story: Brian wanted to combine good with bad, so he took the Name “Marilyn” of the famous Marilyn Monroe (She is the symbol of goodness) and the “Manson” of the mass murder Charles Manson (the symbol of the badness).

Born: Marilyn Manson was born on the fifth January in the year 1969 in Ohio, United States. His parents were called Barbara and Hugh Warner and both died some years ago.


Childhood, adolescence and carreer: Since Marilyn (or “Hugh”) was a child, he was a big hard rock music lover. His favorite band was KISS.
He had to frequent a very strict religious school, but already as a teenager Marilyn was such a rebellious human being and he always wanted to attract attention. So, obviously, in his adolescence, he broke rules till he finally got suspended from school. Some years later, Marilyn moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his family. There he started to study on the Broward Community College; He studied theater and journalism. In the following years, he started to write short novels and poems.

Then, finally, he founded a band called “Marilyn Manson and the spooky kids” which later turned in “Marilyn Manson”. 
Meanwhile, he worked for a music journal and got the possibility to interview some popular bands like his favorite one, KISS.

In the year 1994 an Album was published which called “Portrait of an American family”, which contained songs like “Cake and Sodomy”, “Organ Grinder”, “Snake Eyes and Sissies”,…
Some years later, Manson started to paint and draw, and to act as well.

Relationships: In his life he had a few relationships but none of them was really long-standing. 


Marilyn Manson’s characteristics: Today, Marilyn Manson is well known as a quite odd and curious human being. 

Typical for him is the fact that he always wears black make up, contact lenses and black nails. The skin in his face always is totally pale.
His concerts sometimes can be really strange and also brutal, so it is nothing for faint-hearted (For example, he sometimes has violent outbursts on stage).

He’s also known as being an “anti-christ” (against god) and he is preoccupied with religion and the devil.

So in general Marilyn Manson can be described as a brutal, violent and “unholy” person, and some people even think that he has real psychological disabilities.

However, people like this rebellious, quirky behavior on stage, and so Marilyn Manson has much success - because he is such different and special.

 indirect reference to Satan, so the devil. This
